Fun, Learning & Achievement
Want to make new friends? Meet new people? Take part in sports and other outdoor competitions? Travel? Work abroad? Perform on the stage?
We’re a group of over 680 young people in Cornwall led by young people, for young people.
Cornwall Young Farmers’ Clubs provide anyone aged 10 to 26 with a fantastic chance to meet lifelong friends, learn new skills, make a real difference to the local community and even travel the world!
You don’t have to be a farmer to belong to a Young Farmers’ Club - from team building, training and skills, community and conservation work, crafts, art, music, photography, management skills, cookery, organising events, charity work, floral art, public speaking, sports and much, much more - there is something for everyone so why not get involved?

The South West Farmer Awards give the farming industry in the South West a chance to stand up and be recognised with an emphasis on future and forward thinking farmers. Supported by industry experts, the event gives local farmers, suppliers, breeders and everyone involved in the industry the recognition they deserve for the tremendous work they do throughout the year.
Have you, or someone you know, given 100 per cent and achieved great things this year? You can nominate yourself or someone else online by Monday, August 15 2016. Would be good if we had some Cornwall YFC members nominated in the Young Farmer of the Year category!
30 July 2016
On Saturday 30 th July over 400 members from across Cornwall competed at Cornwall Young Farmers’ Clubs annual county Rally.
The Rally, held at Netherton Farm, Lostwithiel by kind permission of the Hutchings family, is the highlight of the YFC year with competitions held in cookery, art, handicraft, photography, floral art, practical and sports.
The day saw over 600 entries in the static sections alone – incorporating everything from a Victoria Sponge to a decorated coat hanger to a homemade bird box! A fun practical section saw members recycle pallets in to garden furniture, demonstrate their skills at sheaf pitching and race a homemade pram around a set course before taking part in the much anticipated sports competitions such as the greasy pole, six man sack race and men’s, ladies and junior tug of war.

Well done to everyone who entered competitions at Stithians Show, see the overall club results on the clubs page.
Thank you to Nicola Chegwidden who has run the YFC section at the show for several years, enabling members to compete at the show in YFC static classes.
Nicola is now standing down as YFC secretary for the show, please support Rachael Benney next year who is taking over the role.
