CORNISH COUNTRY FAIR 2017

29 August 2017

Organised by Cornwall YFC the annual Cornish Country Fair was held at Stithians Showground on 27th August. The fair which began in 1990 is a traditional Cornish day out for the family and aims to give the opportunity to both local people and visitors to the county a taste of country life.

The fair’s winning format has altered little since it first began but every year new and exciting extras are added to the programme. The main ring came alive with heavy horses, children’s mini Olympics as well as a parade of beagles, whilst working gun dogs amazed the crowds with their obedience. Perhaps though it is the sight of the donkey derby races that result in the most cheers – visitors are very much encouraged to join in the racing. we were delighted to once again welcome back Kernow Kys flyball demonstrations and new for this year the Fergie Fillies!

Dog shows, food and craft stalls, rare breeds, sheep shearing and a whole host of other attractions were on display!

Thank you to all who attended and made the show another great success, and to our members for running the show, helping to make it all happen!
